We are seeking a Patient Services Supervisor to directly manage a team of 11 Financial Counselors in a virtual call center environment.
This position is remote based within 2 hours of the Houston, Texas area with the ability to be in The Woodlands office as needed with 24 hours notice.
Supervisor of Financial Counselor Team will be responsible for managing the daily processes and expectations of the Financial Counselor Department. This department is responsible for educating patients about their benefits, out of pocket expenses and financial assistance programs that help off-set patient out of pocket expenses, while enrolling eligible patients into those programs. The Financial Counselor Department is integral to the overall collection performance for all intraFUSION clients, as the final payments after insurance must be secured from patients and assistance programs to ensure overall profitability for each treatment.
The Supervisor of Financial Counselor Team will monitor, report on and ensures expectations are met for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Additionally, this role manages staff training and development to ensure departmental success and professional development. Must demonstrate McKesson iLead principles of innovation, enterprise mindset, execution, leading change, and development of self and others in every aspect of role.
Acts as the subject matter expert for all processes related to assistance program participation and enrollment, estimating patient out of pocket expenses, collecting patient amounts due before treatment, and collecting on historical balances due from patient.
Plans, organizes, and manages staff scheduling, assignments, and departmental goals.
Establishes and maintains a culture of accountability to achieve operational excellence where short-term goals and deadlines impact client financial health and patient's well-being in a significant manner.
Uses established Key Performance Indicators to monitor progress and adherence to standard operating procedures and service level agreements.
Oversees staff recruitment and hiring
Steers operational excellence and compliance through staff development and training.
Identifies opportunities for process improvements and develops and implements resulting process changes.
Effectively communicates with all stakeholders across the organization regarding performance, issues and/or updates for the department
Actively collaborates with internal/external departments and clients to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and expectations.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local and company guidelines and regulations.
3+ years relevant experience in Healthcare required
1+ year experience supervising a team
1+ year experience with patient advocacy, pharmacy or patient assistance programs required

Must have strong understanding of confidentiality of patient records and HIPAA compliance
Excellent and effective business communication skills both verbally and in writing
Must have ability to manage multiple, concurrent priorities, strong time management and prioritization skills
Must demonstrate an understanding of reimbursement practices including government programs (Medicare, Medicaid), commercial programs, and how these payers coordinate benefits
Must demonstrate adaptability to handle changing priorities in a high volume, fast-paced work environment
Excellent personal computing skills and a working knowledge of MS Office software
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Maintains clear communication with customers regarding mutual expectations
Takes personal responsibility and accountability for correcting customer-service problems
Additional Knowledge & Skills (Preferred or plus skills)
Hospital Systems experience preferred but not necessary
Call center experience
Knowledge of Medicaid, 3rd party insurance and other external foundations or funding programs for reimbursements a plus
Adhere to McKesson ICARE and ILEAD standards in all interactions
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
General office demands
