Our Neuromodulation business is an area of expertise for Abbott. This business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. Our Solutions include Proclaim (TM) XR SCS System, the #1 Spinal cord stimulator on the market, Proclaim (TM) DRG Neurostimulator, the only FDA approved DRG therapy and a market leader in radiofrequency ablation therapy, Abbott RFA and Infinity (TM ) Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). These non-opioid pain therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum. Our locations in Plano, TX or Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Product Manager. The Product Manager will be our lead contributor in determining the evaluating emerging therapies collaborating with our field force, physician advisors, and our internal experts in R&D / clinical / regulatory / supply chain to shape our pipeline and strategy across the growing Neuromodulation business. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the business understand our macro landscape and evaluating internal / external programs to maintain help us maintain our growth trajectory. The incumbent in this position will shape Abbott's viewpoint and strategy for emerging therapies and possess a broad knowledge of the market (physicians / patient / rep) including workflows, competitive positioning, core technical features, clinical data interpretation, and medical device development (both regulated and unregulated).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Contribute to creation of multi-year strategic plan and global product roadmap for a emerging therapeutic areas
Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends and technology readiness (including clinical and regulatory) to identify and assess significant growth opportunities and create strategies that deliver profitable market share
Develop a process to drive ideation, concept testing, and deeper market research (including leading interviews) to drive business platform/portfolio decisions and be able to qualitative and quantitatively provide guidance and insight into these opportunities and help develop market models (as needed)
Work cross-functionally (and project manage when needed) with R&D, clinical, regulatory, and health economic outcomes to shape user needs to become product / system requirements and claims to drive product strategy and project roadmap
Builds strong relationships with KOL's and regional counterparts (including sales teams) around the world
Present to internal and external stakeholders in 1:1 and group settings including Sr. Leadership to help drive decision making
Complies with US FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes and task assignments
Travel up to 30% of the time, including internationally
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree (such as a Master's degree or MBA) is preferred
Experience working in the medical device or life science industry with a technical / clinical / regulatory experience is preferred
Upstream marketing, Strategy Consulting, or equivalent where individual has to build, research, defend opportunity assessments a plus
High level of business acumen and comfort with financial modeling and ability to research clinical literature
Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work within a team as an individual contributor in a fast paced, changing cross-functional environment (including the ability to lead / project manage as needed)
Ability to leverage/engage others to accomplish projects
