Job Description: The Department of Student Activities seeks a Coordinator of Student Activities to maximize the utilization of the Campus Life fee, impact retention for student engagement and connection, and reduce risk during activities. This is a job that works evenings and weekends and plans events. The incumbent will:
Serve as a professional advisor to the University Programming Board
Provide on-site supervision of events and activities coordinated by the UAlbany Programming Board
Provide leadership for large scale University Student Events including:
Great Dane Game Days
Assess and evaluate programs
Serve as advisor to the UAlbany Dance Marathon committee
Coordinate the UAlbanyGO program
Hire, train, supervise and assess 7 student assistants to work in the office; and serve as spirit ambassadors with UAlbanyGO.
Assist the Director with the Staff Development efforts of Student Activities, including creating the curriculum for Fall and Spring Training for the entire Student Activities
Assist with coordination of UAlbany summer camp
Consistently inform the Director of progress, issues, and plans for improvements to functional areas
Assist colleagues as needed in a team atmosphere
Serve the Division, the University, and at times SUNY in an official capacity when assigned, including but not limited to Orientation, Admissions Open House, etc.
Assist as appropriate all other functional areas of Student Activities, Student Involvement and the Division of Student Affairs
Maintaining relationships with key University offices such as UAS, University Foundation, Accounting, Purchasing, Campus Center Operations, Plant Department, etc.
Bachelor's Degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization. Master's preferred.
Experience planning and executing campus events
Experience marketing events and programs
Experience supervising student staff
Familiarity with the Engage platform (MyInvolvement)
