The Senior Director for Freshman Admissions position will supervise three Assistant Director staff members and provide continuous training & holistic development and growth for the employees. In conjunction with the AD team, the Senior Assistant Director is responsible for hiring and training of office ambassadors, continuous development, budget & financial management, and overall success of the student employee program. This position will serve on the Freshman Admissions leadership team and assist with strategic development within freshman admissions & territory management. This position will maintain a recruitment territory and counsel students & families in addition to evaluating freshman student applications.
Responsibilities and Duties
Supervise three Assistant Director staff members who will oversee the student development of office ambassadors. The Senior Assistant Director should provide training & development for employees, complete annual performance reviews and feedback to assist with performance improvement, professional development, and skills/competency development.
In conjunction with the AD team, the Senior Assistant Director is responsible for the hiring and onboarding of student workers, providing continuous training & development, budget & financial management, and overall success of the student employee program. The student employees will be responsible for managing our call center, assisting with notes & card outreach, data-entry/processing, and other initiatives.
Counsel prospective, newly admitted and currently enrolled freshman students on admission to TU. Represent TU by providing excellent customer service and answer questions for the freshman population via phone, email, in-person and virtual meetings. Understand admissions policies and requirements to ensure success within freshman admissions. Provide information presentations during campus visits when needed.
Evaluate freshman student applications for admission and scholarship awards to Towson University through a holistic review process. Assist with review of transfer applications as needed.
Under the direction of the Associate Director, assist with the development of strategic recruitment/marketing plan and territory management. Develop partnerships with university and external constituents, assist with staff trainings, and policy development/execution ensure success within freshman admissions. This position serves as a senior leader of the freshman team.
Manage a recruitment territory. Serve as a liaison and develop relationships with high school counselors, alumni, community-based organizations to enhance network and brand of TU. Provide recruitment support as needed for recruitment events & outreach efforts. Utilize data and enrollment trends to develop a recruitment and outreach strategy. Complete a territory report and analysis to assist with recruitment & outreach efforts.
Complete general admissions duties including, but not limited to, customer service, applicant processing, holistic review, on-campus events, special projects, campus committees, and any other duties as assigned as need to meet the needs of enrollment and the goals of the university.

Have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of related work experience including experience in a supervisory role
Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
