The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry invites applications for Associate Dean for Research, a full-time, senior-level tenure-track faculty position. UAB research grants and awards are at a record high, totaling $638 million in FY20. The School of Dentistry has consistently ranked highly in NIH/NIDCR funding.
The successful candidate will develop and lead a major research program within the School of Dentistry; engage the substantial expertise throughout the UAB campus and take a leadership role with research activities and initiatives; provide leadership and management of the school's research enterprise, which includes research strategic planning, assisting with recruitment and retention of research faculty and staff, mentoring and advising, review and approval of research proposals and oversee compliance with university research policies and procedures, while continuing an individual successful research enterprise as an example for fellow faculty.
