The Center for Multimodal Imaging and Genetics (CMIG) is a multi-disciplinary group of scientists, programmers, and support staff that plays a leading role in several national and multinational initiatives involving collection and analysis of imaging, genetic, and behavioral data from healthy controls and patient populations.
CMIG hosts the Data Analysis and Informatics Center (DAIC) of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study, an ongoing, National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded study to follow ~12,000 children with longitudinal neuroanatomical, functional imaging and behavioral assessments across 21 sites within the United States of America. The major goals of the study are to provide a publicly available data resource to examine the relationships between environmental influences -- including substance use -- and adolescent brain and cognitive development.
The incumbent is responsible for designing, assuring and analyzing data capture, data integrity and data compliance for electric health record (EHR) data of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study, which is a NIH research grant project. Incumbent will be the leader of the EHR project teams and strategizes with key members of the study in the design and creation of new processing pipeline(s) for capturing the EHR data, storing them in RDBMS, performing the analytical reporting and preparing them to data archive stores required by NIH grants. The incumbent creates documentation and prepares data sets for analyses. This position requires strong quantitative, analytical, and computing skills on desktop and server-based processing systems.
The incumbent utilizes a unique combination of advanced skills and knowledge across multiple specialties and research workflows and applies professional programming concepts for the overall EHR project. Applies advanced software concepts and objectives to medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity. Regularly resolves highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Selects tools, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
Advanced knowledge of secure software development. Advanced theoretical knowledge of work in a Electric Health Record area or equivalent combination of education and working experience.
Must be expert in HL7 standard, OMOP CDM, IHESDC and FHIR® (Fast Health Interoperability Resources) API.
Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope. Proven skills in program languages SQL, Python, PHP, JQuery; Strong knowledge about RDBMS, NOSQL. Fluent in using Jupiter Notebook.
Excellent project leadership and management skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
Advanced experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
Advanced experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
Proven software repository skills. Advanced experience using REDCap Databases, creating surveys, and reports.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing complex test plans.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Solid ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Strong complex problem solving skills. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
