The Assistant Director of Academic Advising, reporting to the Director of Academic Advising and has a dotted line to the Director of Career Advising, plays an important role in the work of the College of Arts and Sciences and Maxwell advising team. The position provides transformational and strategic leadership and supervision of a team of academic advisors in a manner that supports and complements CAS/Maxwell's faculty advising model. This position also works collaboratively with the Director of Operations and Director of Career Advising to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students, carry out the vision for the department, and work synergistically with the Division of Student Success, faculty and academic leaders of the University's educational programs, and the University in its entirety.
This role requires a professional leader with expertise in advising undergraduate students who are either exploring major options or who have already declared a major. It also role requires collaboration with the advising team, faculty, and departments to provide outstanding service to our students, supporting their academic and professional goals and timely completion of their degrees.
