The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is looking for a Coordinator of Licensure and Preparation: Certification Officer in the School of Education. The position will ensure the teacher licensure process is completed accurately and in collaboration with both the Tennessee Department of Education and State Board of Education. The position will work with students to navigate initial licensure and additional endorsement needs. The position will support faculty, advisors, and other staff to ensure the School of Education understands state and national requirements for licensure.
Responsibilities include: maintaining an in-depth understanding of complex policies and requirements necessary for preparation programs to maintain state and national approval; providing critical data and/or complete high-level reports as required by federal and state entities; collaborating with leadership at institutional, college and departmental level to ensure policy-based decisions align with all licensure expectations; ensuring the licensure application process is completely accurate based on State Board of Education policy; supporting students during the background and insurance process; utilizing Banner to document benchmarks through the student program of study; attending bi-annual state meetings with licensure coordinators; communicating clearly and effectively via phone, email, in-person and virtually with local district leaders, teachers, current and potential students to answer licensure questions; maintaining up-to-date licensure information on the School of Education website; and becoming knowledgeable of State Board of Education policy as it relates to licensure requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience in a position that required program evaluation, data management and reporting, and understanding of complex policies and guidelines
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; Experience in higher education or in field related to education preparation. Experience with program accreditation and approval
