The Regional Consultant - Retirement is an internal sales support position with the primary responsibility to use technical expertise to help advisors with IRAs, retirement plans (401k/403b), sales strategies, plan selection, rules/regulations and appropriate solutions via consultative phone calls to increase sales. In addition, this role will partner 1:1 with a Regional Vice President to drive sales by providing sales strategies and retirement initiatives via proactive outbound calls to Focus advisors in the assigned region, which would be the North East Region.
â€¢ Use technical expertise to help advisors with Ameriprise retirement plan sales strategies, plan selection, rules/regulations and appropriate solutions via outbound and inbound calls partnering with external wholesaling partners (RVPs) to drive sales in their regions. Build strong working relationship with Regional Vice President. Proactively place outbound calls to Focus advisors in assigned region to provide sales strategies and drive retirement initiatives. â€¢ Ensure a high level of advisor satisfaction by responding to inbound calls and emails from advisors to provide technical expertise on retirement plans, sales strategies, plan selection, rules/regulations, and solutions to drive sales. Maintain strong working relationships with product partners and other company stakeholders. Accurately track all activity and pipeline information in Salesforce.com and follow-up as appropriate. â€¢ Partner with subject matter experts across the firm and outside of the firm to continually improve the quality of advice being given to clients. This includes supporting development of new strategies and on-going maintenance of existing processes, tools, and services. â€¢ Provide support and participate in advisor/client presentations and field facing events. Play a backup for RVP in presentations and events as required. In partnership with RVP, travel within region as required to participate in one-on-one Ameriprise Financial Advisor sales calls, conduct client events, and to deliver group presentations, including continuing education/training.
â€¢ Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a related field â€¢ FINRA Series 7 â€¢ FINRA Series 63/66 â€¢ 5+ years' experience in financial services industry, financial sales or financial wholesaling with proven phone skills â€¢ Knowledge of retirement products and services. â€¢ Ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner, excellent telephone communication skills and presentation skills. â€¢ Proven ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly. â€¢ Demonstrated sales and coaching experience. â€¢ Solid presentation skills for use in one-on-one as well as in frequent large group settings. â€¢ Ability to work in a sales-oriented team environment. â€¢ Minimal travel required up to 5%
â€¢ CFP, CRPC, ChFC designations preferred (or strong desire to achieve) â€¢ Past experience as a financial planner, financial advisor or investment broker â€¢ Experience with Ameriprise Financial product suite â€¢ Knowledge of the Ameriprise field structure
