Fidelity in Germany is responsible for client relationships with and sales to German clients. The German business is a strategic market for Fidelity and well diversified. Our clients include the full range of B2B clients, from large institutional clients to banks, insurance companies, private banks, asset managers and independent financial advisors as well as corporations who support their employees and private clients who are serviced through a fund platform and a scalable portfolio investing solution.
At Fidelity's Kronberg Office, there is a team of over 300 employees, distributed across the different business divisions supporting German clients. The combined German businesses support client assets around â‚¬ 39,9bn AUM.
Fidelity has been active in Switzerland with an office in Zurich since 1996. Our success in the market saw us expand operations and open a second office in Geneva in 2004. With a team of 13 people we're active in the sophisticated wholesale channel and the institutional business in Switzerland with clients that include banks, asset managers, insurance companies, independent financial advisors and pension funds.
Purpose of your role Fidelity is seeking to expand and grow its business by establishing and growing the ETF capability. The candidate shall be responsible for the overall management of the ETF business on the ground in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and CEE.
As an integral member of the German, Austrian, CEE and Swiss sales teams, the Sales Director works in collaboration with the sales team to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the ETF sales plans and supports the Sales Teams in achieving their sales targets. The Sales Director will be responsible for supporting wholesale and institutional clients.
The Sales Director takes on a central role in building out our product positioning, market- and competitor intelligence as well as our marketing approach and distribution strategy.
The role includes preparing, executing and following up on client queries, sales meetings and client event related tasks. It includes taking care of client service, but also maintaining and keeping our global CRM system (Sales-Force) up to date.
Furthermore, the candidate shall be Fidelity's primary representative for the ETF capability in the region and responsible for driving and further develop this strategic positioning.
Your key accountabilities
Drive net sales for Fidelity's ETF product range in the region
Provide support for distribution/wholesale/institutional clients: Responding to ETF client requests, preparing information and data, preparing meeting materials, fund buyer and fund seller sales collateral and pitch documents, RFPs, including data administration and compliance reviews
Ongoing management and further development of our ETF strategy. Provide feedback on existing products and identify new product opportunities to ETF Product team. In addition, provide local competitor and market intelligence to central team.
Management and coordination across Fidelity's internal stakeholders and departments in relation to the ETF business
Drive and lead the build-out of Fidelity's ETF proposition, as well as the further business expansion into new business segments
Perform and lead annual sales planning with distribution heads
Drive and support Fidelity's distribution teams in the setup and coordination of new client partnerships
Act as local point of contact for all oversight related departments such as compliance, regulatory, risk management and audit in partnership with the ETF Platform and Product team
Managing data consistency for internal sales reporting requirements, including preparing reports. Support client satisfaction surveys by selecting relevant clients, checking the participation and liaising with sales in order to meet client service targets
Participate in selected client events, e.g. support in inviting clients, preparing presentations and servicing clients during the event
Your skills and experience
University education with a master's level degree in Business Administration with specialisation in Finance. MBA qualification is highly desirable.
>10 years of professional experience in the asset management and Financial Services consulting industry
In-depth knowledge on the asset management's distribution landscape, client segments and market trends
Experience and understanding of the ETF business and willingness to proactively expand expertise
Proven ability to be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a hands-on mentality
Proven experience to lead highly complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders
Proven ability to build successful external and internal relationships and manage stakeholders up to board level
Experience of mobilising, structuring and generating momentum
Ability to deal successfully with ambiguity and draw out the issues to be addressed
Organised with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Fluent in German and English with outstanding communication skills
