Data Analytics & Strategic Insights | Business Intelligence & Data Science, Chief Data Office, Enterprise Services (ES)
You will join the Chief Data Office (CDO) team and contribute towards our goal of realising a data-driven enterprise by making it simpler and easier to consume trusted data through enterprise-wide consumption patterns of Modelling, Insights, Reporting and Extracts using the latest tools, techniques and control environment.
We are a division comprised of engineers, business analysts, scrum masters, product and delivery specialists, project managers, service managers and a wide variety of data analysts and data scientists.
Together we will develop the Group's data consumption strategy, transform production and protection of the enterprise's data asset and mature data risk management with Data Management 2.0. We also strive to build a leading data and analytics culture, which will enable CBA to be the bank of tomorrow.

Do work that matters Your role as Analyst will be responsible for delivering insights and analysis, utilising advanced analytical skills to allow the business to maximise profitable growth and customer satisfaction outcomes using analytical tools (e.g. SQL, Teradata, R) in conjunction with large data sets. Delivering actionable analytical insights will contribute to the optimisation of our customers' experience and enable business leaders to make data-driven decisions.
The key accountabilities include:
Supporting Business Leaders - Embedding analytics in everyday business and providing deep insight to enable data-driven decision-making. Seen as a trusted advisor and pre-empts the needs of the business to ensure smooth operations
Delivering Insights - Delivering relevant and effective analytical models and insights in a timely manner. Ensure insights are actioned by following up with relevant parties involved
Innovate and optimise - Providing proactive technical and business optimisation solutions for complex/simple business problems
Supporting the Manager - Ownership and accountability of project activities that support a required strategic outcome. Demonstrates comfort with ambiguity and helps determine the desired analytical approach and solution. Proactively manages activities to adhere to project deadlines and escalates any issues to relevant stakeholders
Clear and consistent communication - Effectively presents in various internal forums to key stakeholders (e.g. demos, presentations). Able to present information in meaningful, creative ways that builds the team brand
Lifts own capability - Assists in the development of new analytical solutions and application of advanced techniques. Identifies opportunities to improve own capabilities and demonstrates creativity and ingenuity when tackling complex problems

We are interested in hearing from people who
Have extensive experience in applying analysis to solve business problems
Have the ability to generate actionable value-add insights from complex data using tools
Have the ability to proactively manage own activities and projects with high levels of autonomy
Have the ability to translate data analytics into commercial insights and work with the business to drive and embed change
Have experience in data visualisation of complex relationships (e.g. in Tableau)
Have exposure to data analysis tools such as Teradata, R, SAS, SPSS, Hadoop, Python
Have experience with large datasets and data analysis tools such as SQL (essential)
Have relevant tertiary qualification or industry experience (computer science, statistics, mathematics or related disciplines) (essential)
Have knowledge of Financial Services industry and/or Banking Operations (desirable)
Have programming skills in R, Java, C++, Python, Ruby or Scala (desirable)
