Under general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Front Desk Coordinator acts as a point of contact for patients. The position performs and participates in front office patient centered duties, to include, but not limited to, greeting patients, co-pay collection, appointment scheduling, authorizations and referrals. The position acts as a resource for patients and assists physicians, staff, and ambulatory care service managers as needed. May perform other related duties as assigned.
A minimum of three (3) years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
Thorough knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.
Demonstrated strong problem solving ability by using good judgement.
Proficient computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.
Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone.
Superb communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to work in a large, complex organization.
Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
Be a self-starter who is accountable, open to new ideas, creative, and flexible. Be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, or other Surgical Specialties experience.
EPIC, ORSOS, PCIS, and IDX experience.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
May be required to float to other sites to provide coverage as needed.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
