This Milieu Counselor will be responsible for:
Providing one-on-one support to patients with complex needs.
Responsible for constant safety observation, therapeutic support and care for patients identified to be at risk to themselves, others and/or are in need of protective services.
Follow established policies, procedures and instructions under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in accordance with the individualized needs of the patient.
Observing patients for changes in behavior and/or condition, and reporting pertinent information to RN.
Maintaining a safe environment, accompanying patients to other departments throughout the hospital and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Completing patient care documentation and administrative duties.
The availability to work evenings, nights and weekends.
To qualify, you must have:
A High School level of education or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field preferred.
Six months practical experience working with youth in a group setting required.
Some experience in an inpatient medical/surgical or ED setting preferred.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
