Responsibilities & Requirements: The Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs will have overall responsibility for the direction and oversight of the School of Dental Medicine (SDM) Dental Care Center's patient care activity, community outreach programs, and clinical education experience for the SDM's predoctoral, postdoctoral, advanced education, and residency programs. The Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs will provide leadership in the efficient and effective operation of the SDM clinics in order to provide an environment of high-quality patient care and exceptional learning. He/she will work closely with departmental chairs, program directors, faculty, students, residents, administration, staff, external regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies to ensure the safe and compliant operation of the SDM patient care facilities. Additionally, the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs will coordinate activity between the SDM and other Stony Brook Medicine facilities including Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Children's Hospital, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, Stony Brook Cancer Center, and Long Island State Veterans Home and the ambulatory locations. An optional one-day per week faculty practice opportunity is available.
Required Qualifications: DDS/DMD from an accredited CODA Dental Program. New York State Dental License/eligibility. Excellent organizational, communication, and managerial skills.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA and experience in administration of a dental patient care facility.
Special Notes: Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicant's qualifications and experience.
