GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Vice President of Assessment, Curriculum Development and Academic Success provides college-wide leadership and guidance for Deans, Chairs/Coordinators, and faculty in the development of curricula and programs of study (credit and non-credit), serves as liaison to state and regional accreditors, and foster student success through academic pathways, support program and advising initiatives. The successful candidate will guide innovative academic program design including noncredit to credit pathways as well as support academic program review to enhance student learning outcomes. The Assistant Vice President promotes programmatic effectiveness through leading academic assessment planning and the utilization of assessment results to inform curricular decision making.
The Assistant Vice President is responsible for creating a campus environment that supports and sustains student success through a collaborative process with various College and community constituencies. The position has oversight of the following student support offices and personnel including: Academic Advisement / Placement and Academic Support and Access Programs including; TRIO, ACE (Attend College Early), and Transfer Programing. As an important member of Academic Affairs Leadership Team, the Assistant Vice President will play a critical role in advancing the College's overall strategic goals and carry out other duties, and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Academic Affairs Vice President. The portfolio of responsibilities will be aligned with the incoming Assistant Vice President strengths; other areas may be incorporated into this position depending upon the background of the successful candidate.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises support personnel as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides strategic leadership and expertise on assessment and curricular related polices, practices, training workshops and activities.
Provides support and leadership in the areas of curriculum development and review, new program development, and the assessment of student learning outcomes.
In partnership with the Associate Vice President, Deans and faculty/ coordinators collaborate in a college-wide guided pathways implementation project (credit/non-credit).
Partners on non-credit programming curriculum development and clock-hour program accreditation.
Serves as liaison for all program initiatives requiring system administration and State Education Department approval or registration.
Serve as the College's liaison to the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) to ensure the institution's compliance with state and federal regulations.
Collaborate with administration and faculty to develop and integrate a comprehensive system for assessing student learning at the course and program level for programs and services.
Ensures that accreditation requirements, including compliance with assessment standards are incorporated among other institutional goals and objectives, into the planning and evaluation process of the College and academic units.
Coordinate and supports the academic program review process ensuring quality and timely submission of reviews to the School Deans; monitors and supports progress towards the achievement of stated action plans.;
Review academic policies and procedures that may impact courses, curricula, retention, and completion.
Oversees preparation of the college catalog and all academic publications; maintenance of academic. degree program information on the college website; general education course submissions in accordance with the guidelines established by the DHE.
Provides leadership, vision, and supervision of academic support center Directors including: Academic Advising and on-boarding, Faculty Advising, TRIO, ACE and student success programs.
Provides oversight and evaluates advising and onboarding services for new and continuing students in conjunction with Director of Advising.
Supervises the transition to case-management advising model designed to maximize advisor-student engagement fostering student success.
Provides leadership to ensure the utilization of a variety of effective and best-practice advising delivery systems and methodologies, including distance learners, in an environment conducive to provision of quality and equitable student support services and learning.
Performs other duties as assigned.
1.Master's degree in relevant field of study.
2.Minimum 3 years' experience with formal academic curricular and assessment processes.
3.Relevant experience working with regional accreditor and guiding self-study and annual reports.
4.Experience in academic advising and success programs that foster student retention, persistence and completion.
5.Knowledge of assessment principles and tools in higher education.
6.Knowledge of designing curricular pathways (non-credit / credit).
7.Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
8.The ability to plan and conduct effective meetings.
9.Evidence of leadership ability.
10.Has knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
11.Experience editing and proofreading, with the ability to produce high-quality materials while adhering to multiple deadlines.
12.Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
13.Ability to adapt to competing and shifting priorities with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
1. Doctorate or terminal degree in relevant field of study preferred.

QCC was established in 1963 to provide access to higher education to residents of Central Massachusetts. Since the early 60s, enrollment has grown from 300 to over 13,000 full and part-time day and evening students served.
