The Receivableâs Department at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for an Accounts Receivable Specialist I to serve as an advisor. This position will oversee an accounts receivable function or program and will provide advising to a wide array of customers including students, parents, employees, and external customers on information relating to billing, financial aid, payment options, student retention, debt, financial literacy, and credit management. This position will also reconcile accounts and complete reports as required. The position works closely with the Registrar, Financial Aid, Department of Residence, academic advising, and fee for service units answering a wide variety of questions, while providing thorough and accurate resolutions to university billing inquiries. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, having a willingness to learn, and exhibit leadership skills necessary to influence the success of the Accounts Receivable Office. The candidate must value customer service and have the ability to prioritize tasks, and multitask long and short-term projects with multiple distractions. This position will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and must have the capacity to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. The candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to analyze data to make informed decisions, and must possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel.
