Germanna Community College, a learning-centered college and one of the fastest growing community colleges in Virginia, is seeking a full-time administrative assistant to provide administrative support to the Dean of Academic Technology and Learning Support (ATLS) and secondarily to the Coordinator of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), especially regarding the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The successful candidate shall possess office experience, preferably in an academic setting. Must have the ability to use professional oral and written communication, proficiently use the Micosoft Office and Google suites, prioritize competing tasks, and maintain organized records. This person in this position will (among other duties):
Provide administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings and recording meeting minutes.
Review, assess, route, answer, and monitor follow-up action steps on correspondence.
Gather and analyze information required for administrative reporting.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate division records, documents, and reports.
Monitor the ATLS budget, including tracking expenditures and providing reports. May prepare spreadsheets for budgets, or contracts, including tracking and maintaining expenditures and reconciling accounts.
Conduct purchases for ATLS through eVA (the procurement system for the state of Virginia).
Provide organizational assistance with CTL workshop and speaker facilitation, as well as Professional Development Days.
Support the QEP data collection.
The position is part of the team of Academic Technology and Learning Support and located at Fredericksburg Area Campus.
