To assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of those activities that bear directly on the recruitment and selection of students to the Colleges. The Assistant Director will be involved in a full range of admissions responsibilities including regional recruitment efforts (travel, correspondence and communication with prospective students and secondary school personnel), interviewing, on-campus events, management of student assistants, and application review.
Additionally, the Assistant Director may manage responsibilities associated with athletic recruitment, college search web sites, student workers, alumni/ae and parent volunteers, and merit scholarships.
Manage traditional recruitment territory including travel (6-8 weeks), school relations, communication with prospective students, interviews, application review, etc.
Provide students with information about the Colleges and assistance regarding admissions application procedures and timelines.
Establish a continuum of personalized communication with prospective candidates, school counselors, and community-based organizations to strengthen their connection to the Colleges.
Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural and economic circumstances of students.
Understand and interpret data that are a part of the admission and financial processes including: applications for admissions, accepted student questionnaires, enrollment planning data, admissions charts and tables, needs assessment documents.
Demonstrate knowledge and embrace the Colleges’ educational philosophy and mission.
Participate fully in the review of applications from assigned region.
Act as a liaison with various student organizations, clubs, and groups.
Bachelor's degree is required. Candidates for the position must possess superb written and oral communication skills, computer skills, a high level of energy, a valid driver’s license and a lively imagination. Knowledge of enrollment CRM (Slate), Microsoft Office helpful.
