What you’ll be doing...
The Creative Director - Copywriter creates breakthrough work in social channels and helps bring the Verizon brand closer to culture. This includes: providing creative direction to the social creative team on content calendar creative, creating groundbreaking concepts that will help generate positive impressions of the Verizon brand within social channels, and helping to create experiential concepts that generate social content. Responsibilities of this role include 3 core areas: Creative Direction, Leadership and Execution, Client Service and Teamwork.
Provides creative direction while partnering with staff to accomplish creative objectives.
Provides creative quality control over concepts and execution.
Directs complex, large-scale project activities and helps manage the work of the creative studio team.
Leads execution of Tier 1 creative work on select projects including development of headlines and copy.
Provides brand guidance and direction to ensure consistent alignment with brand standards.
Understands data used to track market trends and customer actions and uses to inform the creative work.
Builds strong relationships with clients; perceived as credible, trusted advisor.
Partners with clients to achieve effective outcomes in an efficient manner.
Works with clients to articulate creative needs concisely, yet completely.
Appropriately balances client desires, business requirements and marketing strategies.
Works harmoniously with others to get a job done.
Shares critical information with everyone involved in a project to produce more effective creative solutions.
Helps to set a tone of cooperation within the creative group and across the organization; promotes a “be of service” solution-oriented mentality across the creative team.
Finds common ground with clients when debating creative or strategic opinions.
Aligns with a collective team vision and defines goals and objectives.
What we’re looking for...
You lead with a passion that energize the team to over-deliver against expectations and results in high employee engagement and overall job satisfaction. You anticipate problems and see how a problem and its solution will affect other projects, people or processes. You understand that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on-time, on-budget and on-strategy. You can delegate properly and do not get caught up in being a production or process manager. You know how to be persuasive and/or negotiate when selling in ideas. You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Five or more years of experience as an Assistant Creative Director.
Both in-house and agency experience.
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor's degree preferably in Advertising, English, journalism or a related field.
Demonstrated creative conceptualization skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage differing viewpoints so the final product remains true to the objective.
Proven leadership skills to maximize team talents.
Hands on experience in at least one creative discipline: design, copywriting, video production.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Working knowledge in industry-standard software and tools such as the Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, project management software, and online market research.
Demonstrated experience in brand development as well as traditional and emerging multi-channel marketing.
The ability to articulate the creative rationale that drives the concept’s execution and tactics.
