Our Lady of Mercy, a three time Blue Ribbon award-winning school, seeks a recent college graduate to join its dynamic resource department. Our PreK3 to 8th grade school is located on a beautiful campus in Potomac, MD. We are renovating to create a new Learning Center that will house enrichment programs, book clubs, and some academic support groups. Come and join our amazing resource team of seasoned professionals. OLOM is a school where a family can send all their children, whether they need academic enrichment or academic support. You will have the opportunity to work with children with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, AD/HD and many other common learning challenges.
Our Director is the former Director of Assistive Technology at Johns Hopkins University, and our other resource teacher is a twenty-three year veteran who is certified in Middle School Math, Orton-Gillingham reading instruction, and has decades of experience including children with ID in the regular classroom. Our principal is a former Director of Special Education and author. We are eager to find that new teacher who is passionate about Catholic Schools and inclusion.
BA in Special Education
No experience needed - in fact, we hope for a recent grad who is eager to learn!
Desire to work in a Catholic School.

Some understanding of UDL principles a plus.
Additional Salary Information: Teachers with no experience begin at $40K per year. We have a robust benefits package and opportunities for additional work after school or in the summer.

Our beautiful Catholic school is part of a vibrant parish, Our Lady of Mercy, located in Potomac, Maryland. Our parish has a proud history of inclusion and support for persons with disabilities, and our school endeavors to be a worthy part of the ministry. We have been including students with intellectual disabilities for over twenty years. Currently, we are in-person during the Covid-19 epidemic although we also offer parents the opportunity to have their child learn virtually. Our school is a place of warmth and joy, offering a wonderful academic and spiritual experience for our learners grades PreK 3 to 8th.
