This position is funded through student health fees to lead and consult with the UNC Asheville community regarding mental health and substance abuse services, issues, and programs. This position provides individual and group counseling, educational groups, mental health evaluations, and referrals to the local community for all appropriate students. This position is split between the delivery of individual and group counseling (75%) and coordination of substance abuse education. (25%)
This position also has responsibility to develop and implement outreach services, prevention programs, and program evaluation/assessment activities related to mental health and substance abuse.
Minimum Education/Experience/Skill :
Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Professional Counseling
North Carolina Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist or equivalent
North Carolina license in Psychology, Social Work, or Professional Counseling
Experience/training in Substance Abuse Counseling and education programming with a college population.
Three to five years experience in a substance abuse counseling.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skill :
Three to five years of experiences as a licensed therapist.
