The Academic Recruiter of Philanthropy & Communication purpose is to recruit students for undergraduate programs in communication, with primary focus on the new BA in Philanthropy, the newest degree in the Department of Communication in the College of Liberal Arts. Market and promote the undergraduate philanthropy and communication programs off campus to businesses, community colleges, high schools and other organizations in connection with recruitment of students. Create an effective communication and marketing strategy to encourage prospective students to select the college. Develop, implement and manage various recruitment strategies; this may include mailings, phone campaigns, electronic communications, college/high school visits, information sessions and other special events. Design of these strategies will be in cooperation with the Director of Communications. Attend recruitment fairs and conferences in order to establish relationships and collaborations with colleges/universities. Act as a community liaison between local public schools and the college to coordinate group tours, presentations and disseminate admissions requirements to potential students. Create a student engagement strategy which includes event management, increasing awareness of our services and creating a better student experience. Develop and maintain professional networks and technical knowledge by participating in professional conferences and workshops. Assist program advisors with the facilitation of application and admission processing for sponsored and non-sponsored prospective students. Keep students informed of their status within the admissions process by maintaining consistent communication throughout the admissions process. Follow-up with newly-admitted students to determine progress towards meeting the conditions of admission. Collect, maintain and distribute to Department Chair, Associate Chair, and/or Program Directors statistical data on applicants, newly-admitted students, enrolled students, retention and graduation for each respective Program. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. Two (2) years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, student affairs or the equivalent experience.
Master's degree and marketing experience preferred.
