Under general direction, coordinates the internship and professional development experiences for the residential MHA graduate degree program within the department of Health Management and Policy (HMP), in the College for Public Health & Social Justice.
Leads, facilitates, and manages the student professional development and internship placement efforts within HMP, and consistent with CAHME accreditation and CEPH accreditation requirements. Responsible for the identification, gathering, and reporting all professional development, and internship placement reporting metrics required of CAHME accreditation.
Cultivates alumni and preceptor relationships and recruit preceptors for the purposes of advancing the Department goals, CAHME accreditation requirements, and meeting the specialized health care environment student professional development and placement needs. Responsible for initiating, communicating and tracking the internship process with the students to include all required CAHME accreditation reporting requirements.
Plans, organizes, conducts/implements, and evaluates Professional Rounds and Internship sessions, to include approximately 8 professional development sessions per year and all internship preparation sessions.
Identifies and organizes other job placement/employment opportunities for the students to include interview days within the HMP Department and track required CAHME accreditation metrics related to employment placement.
Manages all day-to-day and formal communications with students and faculty regarding professional development and placement opportunities for and with the students. Responsible for all documentation and distribution of information in accordance with CAHME accreditation as it relates to the professional development and placement of the students within the HMP Department. Serves as a career advisor for the HMP Department students. Contribute to student orientation of all HMP Department students. Manages content for the website and social media as it relates to professional development and placement for the students within the HMP Department.
Plans, organizes, and implements events such as the Preceptor Round Table and Reception which is attended by students, faculty, preceptors and other invited guests, HMP annual Recruitment Day, and the HMP Internship Fair in accordance with the HMP Department goals and CAHME accreditation.
