Reporting to the Vice Dean of Administration/COO, the Director of Strategic Projects will oversee a variety of project management and confidential matters in order to lead the strategic initiatives for the school. The Director of Strategic Projects will work closely with the Dean, Vice Dean of Administration, and Chief of Staff, to identify and frame strategic issues, conduct fact-based analysis and develop recommendations to achieve meaningful and tangible impact at the Business School.
Conceptualize and execute strategic initiatives to lead the Deanâ€™s vision in all areas of the Business School, including, but not limited to, program partnerships, student and faculty recruitment, curriculum innovation, and alumni engagement; working closely with the dean and senior staff and many other areas within the Business School and across the University.
Drives the use of qualitative and quantitative data to identify the most significant short- and long-term opportunities and challenges facing the school. Implements a data collection strategy and maintain up-to-date metrics on various school efforts. Communicates metrics to all stakeholders in a regular way to inspire action. Analyze data on the business school landscape â€" both domestic and abroad - to generate meaningful insights and transformative solutions.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to moderate and facilitate high-level, interactive strategic conversations on all project management requirements.
Partners closely with senior leadership in departments, academic divisions, centers and programs at CBS to effectively manage and achieve desired project outcomes.
Partners with the Vice Dean of Administration in his/her capacity as the Schoolâ€™s liaison with the University including the Office of General Counsel, EEOA, the Provost Office, Central Human Resources, Facilities and Operations, and Finance to ensure the Schoolâ€™s recommendations are considered when setting University-wide policy and initiatives.
Partners with the Vice Dean of Administration in his/her oversight of financial planning, human resources, facilities and operations, and information technology to ensure department long-term planning aligns with the Deanâ€™s strategic goals for the School.
Conducts research, benchmarks, and writes high level meeting materials for the Dean and Vice Dean of Administration including presentations, talking points, and briefings working closely with the Chief of Staff and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.
Must have excellent presentation and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations necessary. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail required. Must have a robust analytical skill set. Intermediary to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint programs with an ability to create effective management presentations required. Must be a team player but also work independently. Must have a global mindset. Ability to prioritize and efficiently multi-task across various short- and long-term projects needed.
MBA or comparable degree strongly preferred. At least 10 yearsâ€™ experience in a mid-level administrative position desired.
