Boston HAPPENS Program, imbedded within Adolescent/Young Adult medicine, as part of a diverse, interdisciplinary team providing outreach, case finding and management, medical care, and support services (e.g., nutrition and mental health) for youth age 12-25 who are living with HIV and youth who may be at risk for acquiring HIV (including youth who have experienced sexual trauma).
The HAPPENS Program Clinical Social Worker will be responsible for:
Providing brief and long term mental health treatment with individuals, families and groups,
Performing integrated care and crisis-based interventions with diverse clientele including youth who are homeless, LGBTQ+-identifying youth, BIPOC youth, youth with cognitive impairment, youth with trauma or sexual assault histories, and youth facing transition to adult care systems.
Clinical supervision to 2-3 medical case managers and HIV/STI/sexual health counselors
Developing and implementing psychosocial interventions and treatment plans for program clients
Psychosocial assessment, short-term focused counseling, case management and complex resource coordination, psychosocial consultation to medical team, family advocacy and program development
Supporting and providing consultation to the medical staff within the greater hospital
Supporting grant funding (including grant writing, reporting, and budget management), and engages in teaching and research.
To qualify, you must have:
A Master's degree in Social Work
LICSW in the state of MA
Availability for On-call coverage for Adolescent mental health up to 2 sessions per week
Knowledge of local HIV and youth resources, as well as HIV care and prevention desired. Comfort and experience with adolescents/young adults within a trauma-informed framework ideal.
Ability to work in fast-paced dynamic environment
Flexibility and excellent communication skills necessary.
