The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager is responsible for organizational workforce strategies and consulting services across all areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This includes providing consultation and best practice guidance across the organization to enable a workplace that is focused on cultivating diversity, ensuring equitable access to opportunities and development, and driving a culture of equity and inclusion. The DEI Program Manager should be able to consult, make recommendations and influence decisions in environments that are cross-cultural, multifaith, cross-ethnic, and cross-linguistic. This role is a subject matter expert in cross-cultural communication, emerging DEI practices and methodologies, recognizing and dismantling bias, and speaking to issues directly facing impacting underrepresented communities and communities of color in the workplace. This role is also a project manager, and developer of initiatives that better the experience of all our staff. This role will partner with with the current DEI team, communications, human resources, organizational development & learning and other necessary functions that intersect with DEI. This role is instrumental in coaching and advising within out existing Employee Resource Group structure.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Consultation
Serve as an advisor, expert, and change agent for system cultural initiatives. In partnership with HR Strategy, conduct ongoing site consultation and support to leaders and teams during times of cultural challenge or change.
Serve as an internal consultant for workforce issues that are identified by managers, executives, physicians, nurses and other care team members. Provides advice, research, perspective, data and recommendations based on expertise and experience.
Lead and consult on key DEI initiatives such as immigration, cultural assessments, and system-wide DEI improvement and awareness programs.
Serve as subject matter expert on issues of diversity, identity, equity, and inclusion both internally and externally to Human Resources and the enterprise.
Leverage benchmark data to identify areas of opportunity, make recommendation, and drive solutions to strengthen our workplace through a lens of DEI.
Develop and deploy programs and initiatives that drive success and demonstrate the value of strong DEI strategies.
Directly advise HR to infuse DEI into overall workforce strategies, goals, and initiatives (e.g. Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Total Rewards, etc.).
Partner with and advise other areas of the business like Health Equity, Research and Education, Patient Relations, Community Relations, Wellbeing, Spiritual Health, and Quality & Safety as needed to align workplace initiatives to other system patient/community initiatives that drive a culture of equity and inclusivity across our enterprise.
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
Coach and advise existing leaders system-wide Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). While also focusing on opportunities of growth for new ERGs.
Help onboard ERG leadership, liaise between ERG leadership and Executive Oversight Committee. Assist in reviewing resource needs.
Ensure development of ERGs and ERG leadership in addition to helping ERGs set and achieve goals, develop resources, and advise the system as subject matter experts.
Provide guidance across all ERGs and their leadership to ensure programs, practices and initiatives align with System ERGs strategy.
Develop and maintain application process; allocate, evaluate and review budget; measure performances and drive sustainable business results.
Own and maintain system compliance and submission of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) reporting.
Leverage and analyze system-wide employee demographics on identity to ensure areas of underrepresentation are understood and consult on how to drive improvements.
Prepare and report demographic data upon request.
Partner with HR Strategy/DEI Program Manager(s) on annual compliance reporting including but not limited to EEO, AAP, and other government required reporting.
In partnership with system communications, develop communication strategy driven by annual calendar around DEI which may include celebrations of days of significance, events, and other activities that may impact employees of various identities.
Create and deploy web resource to house DEI resources and ensure it is accessible to staff and leadership.
Drive communication tools for leaders and employees to leverage which may include, rounding guides, team discussion guides, talking points, and other resources that support an equitable and inclusive environment.
Advise system communications team by reviewing communications to ensure DEI lens is present and communications are inclusive and respectful.
Program Development & Execution
Recommend, develop, and execute on programs that drive a mindset and culture of inclusivity and equity (vs equality).
In partnership with ODL, develop education and training aimed at cultural competency, DEI competency, bias, privilege, identity, and other emerging issues impacting diversity in the workforce.
Identify and recommend system goals to improve in areas of underperformance or underrepresentation.
Facilitate and support initiatives that drive business outcomes and achieve measurable results.
Ensure best practices are maintained and/or implemented. Stay informed about other DEI activities occurring in the market and recommend deployment within organization. Maintain relationships with external DEI professionals relevant to our market.
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution, preferably in behavioral sciences, human resources management, social sciences, education, communication, human relations, or other relevant discipline.
5 years consulting and influencing DEI results in environments which are cross-cultural, multi-faith, cross-ethnic and cross-linguistic. Developing employee culture related programs, strategies, communication and learning.
Experience with consulting and project management.
Masters degree in a relevant field.
Demonstrated success in consulting in environments which are cross-cultural, multifaith, cross-ethnic and cross-linguistic and influencing results.
Demonstrated ability to effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address complex business issues.
Demonstrated excellence in project management, prioritization and planning; able to drive system-wide projects across multiple divisions and functions.
Demonstrated ability to quickly gain credibility and show strong partnership with business leaders.
Establishes and maintains credible advisor relationships with management that influence strategy and challenges or influences thinking and behaviors.
Must be a creative thinker with the ability to communicate ideas and influence outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
