Hebron Academy is seeking an experienced Learning Specialist to join our Academic Guidance Center department for the 2021-2022 school year.

Our faculty participate fully in the life of the school -- as teacher, coach, dorm parents, mentor, and advisor.
The ideal candidate will:
provide comprehensive learning support to students with mild to moderate learning differences in one-on-one and small group settings.
monitor and assess students' individual progress, determine the need for further evaluation and/or support services, and make referrals, as needed.
possess knowledge of the academic, emotional and brain-based components of learning in adolescence.
create, update, and implement comprehensive academic support plans for students.
collaborate with other members of the Academic Guidance Center team, as well as with the broader faculty, to ensure student support needs are optimally understood and plans of support are established, reviewed, and modified when deemed necessary.
communicate with parents on a routine basis to provide updates on student progress and support needs.
possess outstanding interpersonal skills and a track record for building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
take initiative, be organized, and demonstrate attention to detail.
demonstrate commitment to nurturing the whole child by supporting the emotional and social needs of each student.
coach or lead an after-school activity for 2-3 seasons.
serve as an advisor to a small cohort of students as part of the student advisory program.
participate fully in residential life including weeknight and weekend duty rotations.
possess a personal dedication to investing in the lives of young people and a sincere commitment to learn and embrace HA's school culture.
The ideal candidate will hold a masters degree in special education, school pshychology, or a related field.
