We are currently seeking a Part-Time Multimedia Assistant Teacher to join in the vision of our Broadcast Journalism Department for the 2021-2022 school year.
Job Summary The Multimedia Assistant teacher is a 60% position (24 hours per week) in Sacred Heart Greenwich's award-winning Broadcast Journalism and Filmmaking program. The Multimedia teacher will support creative and forward-thinking curricular growth in digital media communications including web design, social media, podcasting, and media literacy.
Teach and mentor students (grades 9-12) in multimedia journalism and filmmaking
Design innovative curriculum related to multimedia journalism
Oversee student portfolio and web design development
Coordinate annual Film Festival
Manage broadcast website and @lightscameraheart Instagram team
Support creation of studio and video projects for PK-12 students
Collaborate with colleagues in creating inter-disciplinary and inter-divisional projects
Maintain, manage, and organize camera and editing equipment
Provide technical support to students as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in film and video production, editing, cinematography techniques, photography, editing, web design, design thinking, graphic design and visual communication strategies
Experience in animation and virtual reality ideal but not required
Software knowledge required: Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe After Effects
Software knowledge preferred: Canva, Photoshop, animation, audio editing, podcast, and web design.
Strong interest and experience in inquiry-based, student-centered instructional approach
Exceptional project management skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Proficiency with current educational technology
A bachelor's degree in media, multimedia, visual communication, technology or a related field.
