All Saints’ Episcopal School is currently seeking a dynamic, innovative and collaborative educator who is passionate about working closely with talented students and supportive parents in the college admission process. The College Advising team partners enthusiastically with various campus constituencies and department, including faculty, admissions, athletics, arts, and advisory. The ideal candidate will have close experience in selective college admission, either as an admission office liaison or high school counselor/advisor. He or she will have a passion to engage and lead students in personal growth beyond college applications, and will contribute energy and ideas to students beginning in 9th grade. The Assistant / Associate Director is expected to attend all Upper School staff meetings, All-School staff meetings, and retreats, as well as participating in the life of the school.
Provide grade-level appropriate education to students and families about the college discovery, research, and admission process at regular intervals throughout the year, in both individual and group settings
Closely guide approximately 50 seniors throughout the process of preparing and providing applications for admission, scholarship and financial aid; this will include a junior family conference in the spring, thoughtful feedback on essays, applications and interviews throughout the admission cycle, and a letter of recommendation for each student in the employees case load
Stay abreast of relevant trends in admission, testing, enrollment, and education through research, college visits, and connection with college admission officers
Welcome interaction with underclassmen and their families
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., athletics, arts, faculty, marketing) in service of promoting All Saints' positively
Seek out and attend professional development opportunities
Assisting with at-school PSAT and PreACT test administration
3+ years experience in college admission (preferably selective and holistic admission)
A passion for inclusive, positive, and student-centered advising
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, namely in writing and presentation
A commitment to clear and helpful dialogue and engagement with students and families
Discretion and sensitivity when dealing with students, families and campus constituents
The genuine desire for professional growth
Experience with Naviance, Common App, Coalition App, and other frequently used software resources is a plus
