As the Associate Director of Admission and Communication Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting a full range of recruitment activities including but not limited to local, regional, and national travel, personal interviews, application review, and other duties as assigned by the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid. In addition, you will be the principal Admissions liaison to the Office of Communications. In this capacity, you will observe trends, monitor developments across the sector, work closely with Communications counterparts, and bring your creativity to the fore as you help to design and implement meaningful marketing and communications strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities: General admission responsibilities include conducting interviews with prospective students and families; reviewing files and evaluating candidates; being an ambassador and representative of the School, and leading informational sessions for prospective families.
In addition, as the Associate Director of Admission and Communications Specialist, you will:
Collaborate with the Office of Communications to develop and implement an effective, innovative, data-driven marketing and communications strategy based on target audience and competitive differentiation.
Create and analyze reports to assess the effectiveness and impact of our communications strategy and adapt the strategy accordingly.
Innovate new opportunities to attract the most capable and qualified applicants.
Establish and maintain relationships with organizations with capacity to create visibility for Hotchkiss.
Collaborate with the Office of Communications to:
leverage SLATE CRM to enhance messaging across all populations of prospective families.
write, edit, and distribute content for print, digital and social media campaigns.
manage updates to the admission webpage.
participate in Communication team meetings as Admission liaison.
collaborate on initiatives.
Hotchkiss faculty actively participate in all aspects of community life through service in Hotchkiss’s residential, advising, and co-curricular programs. Typical responsibilities of a full-time faculty member at Hotchkiss include responsibilities in their core function (admission), coaching two seasons of a co-curricular team or the equivalent specialized assignment, regular duty in our residential program, and periodic participation in faculty committees and/or as an advisor to student clubs. Full-time faculty members are generally expected to obtain a public service endorsement on their CT drivers license within the first year of employment, so that they may drive students in school vehicles.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Five or more years of professional experience in the areas of admissions, recruitment and communications in education.
Demonstrated success in using and learning admissions related technology, data systems and analysis and reporting. SLATE CRM experience preferred.
Team player with empathy, respect for others, and a sense of humor.
Ability to partner cross-functionally and work with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, reading, writing and organizational skills.
Proven track record of building, managing and optimizing multi-channel, complex strategic marketing and sourcing campaigns.
Ability to work extended hours during peak periods.
Ability to travel on behalf of the School.
Compensation: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and education level.
