Queensborough Community College invites applications for the position of Director of Admissions and Recruitment.
The College seeks an experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead a progressive Admissions team. Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions and Recruitment is an integral part of the Enrollment Services team and provides vision, leadership and oversight of all of the day to day functions of the Office of Admissions. In addition to the functions listed in the CUNY Title Overview, and as a member of the Enrollment Management Committee, the Director will conceptualize and implement a recruitment plan that is data-driven, focused on strategic initiatives, and advances the mission and goals of the College. The Director will manage and refine key areas of focus including communication plans, prospective student and counselor relationship cultivation, recruitment territories, and campus events. The Director will maintain an inclusive professional environment in keeping with the College's commitment to equity.
This position requires occasional evening and weekends.
Lastly, the Director will oversee the Office of Testing and the Office of New Student Engagement.
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
The following qualifications are strongly preferred:
-Experience implementing successful Admissions and Recruitment initiatives
-Experience managing a diverse staff in a higher education setting
-Experience managing multiple initiatives, functions and deadlines simultaneously
-Experience using data and technology to design recruitment plans.
-Experience planning on-campus special events and targeted outreach campaigns to constituencies such as Open House and Accepted Student Receptions
-Knowledge of college admissions trends and local markets, especially Queens and Nassau Counties
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation, skills
-Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with key constituencies
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Develops, implements, and manages one or more major admissions and recruiting functions.
Manages overall recruitment and admissions processes
Develops recruiting strategies for the College and/or specific programs or groups and works closely with academic departments, programs, and administrators to coordinate marketing and recruiting
Manages the development and distribution of recruiting materials and communications of all kinds
Manages admissions operations and staff, including coordination with outside organizations and University administration
Oversees department budget including developing detailed proposals to support recruitment and admissions
Evaluates and reports outcomes; uses information in statistical, fiscal, and other reports to make improvements to the recruiting process
Performs related duties as assigned.
