S&P Global is seeking an experienced and innovative communicator to join the S&P Global Ratings Communications team as a Director of Communications.
Reporting directly to the Head of Americas Communications for S&P Global Ratings, this accomplished individual will be responsible for leading and executing communications programs across multiple high-profile practice areas spanning various Economic, Analytical and Research groups, as well as strategic growth areas for the business, such as ESG communications and special projects.
The ideal candidate will have an extensive track record and strong background in driving large scale communications campaigns for external audiences, experience working closely with executive leadership, a proven history of successfully elevating products, data, thought leadership, and brand narrative in the press, and exceptional knowledge of what it takes to navigate complex issues in the public domain.
This talented communicator will be a dynamic, energized team player with measurable success in the following areas:
Developing and executing on strategic and impactful communications campaigns
Building and maintaining exceptional journalist relationships
Increasing media attributions and elevating brand awareness in the press
Identifying market trends and developments that could positively or negatively impact the Business
Capitalizing on opportunities to enhance and protect brand and reputation-ideally within a regulated business or industry
This passionate, creative and critical thinker will have significant comfort in serving as a strategic communications counselor to senior business leaders, creating strategic messaging and briefing documents, working hand in hand with legal and compliance, and developing trust and strong relationships with key internal stakeholders. She/he will also have opportunities to be involved in cross-functional special projects.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,800 to $230,200. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Expected Skill Set Will Include:
Exemplary speaking, writing and presentation skills
Impeccable attention to detail, strong organization and project management skills
Prior experience managing high profile financial communications
Knowledge of the financial markets and government bodies that regulate the financial markets
Proven track record of successful media placements
Unmatched journalist relationships
A proven track record of providing strategic communications advice to senior-level clients
Demonstrated experience leading initiatives and working with minimal guidance
Strong team leadership and development skills
Experience in working for a global, regulated company
Confidence, enthusiasm and energy and a proactive approach to communications
Driving thought leadership projects through message development and leading executive promotion internally and externally
Leading, developing, & executing communications and strategies
A keen understanding of when to function as a player or a coach, and always as a motivating influence within any team
Qualifications: The candidate will have a strong track record of success over the course of his/her career. They will have:
A minimum of 8-10 years' experience in a communications function (preferably in financial services), either in-house or for an agency
A bachelor's degree (MBA is a plus)
Keen interest in and understanding of business and financial markets
Fluent English (another language would be an advantage but not essential)
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
