We are seeking a Senior Margin Analyst with advanced SQL and data modeling skills to join the team at the McKesson Richmond, VA location.
The Senior Margin Analyst - Power BI is a trusted profitability advisor to executive-level leadership and Area Sales Managers. This position requires complex analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills as the analyst is required to collaborate with different internal teams to drive business unit success, including Sales, Category Management, Contract Admin, IT, and other key groups. You will use business intelligence software tools to transform data into useful insights that help pricing/cost decisions. Your primary function is to use data visualization tools i.e. Power BI in efforts present analytical findings in the form of reports, summaries, dashboards, graphs, charts, maps, etc. to provide users with detailed intelligence about the state of their book of business. This includes both routine reporting responsibilities and larger-scale growth initiatives to continually improve the team's capabilities and impact.
Analyzes, synthesizes and makes sense of structured and unstructured data pulled from multiple sources to provide solution to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to highlight financial opportunities and proposes actions
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
Give guidance to sales reps and a variety of internal clients (Contract Administration, Category Management, Sales Management etc.) on pricing decisions for external clients
Provide routine reporting activities and complete other special projects related to pricing and margin analysis as needed
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of account management/client services, healthcare or relevant experience.
Advanced proficiency with Data visualization - Power BI
Experience in analytics or data related fields
Experience with financial analysis
Data querying experience (SQL)
Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel - Vlookups, Pivots)
Prior experience working with complex and unstructured data and/or automation/scripting language
BA or BS degree preferred or equivalent experience
Additional Skills and Knowledge
Must be comfortable with large data sets, can apply analysis, and make actionable recommendations that build McKesson's business.
Knowledge of the healthcare and/or distribution industry a plus
Ability to generate reports and successfully translate and communicate findings to a variety of audiences
Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines under general supervision
Familiarity with automation software/scripting languages
Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Traditional office environment
Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required
