Position Title: Design Technology/Media Arts Faculty
Status (FT-PT-Hourly): FT

Reports to: Head of Upper School; DTMA Department Chair
The Design Technology/Media Arts teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional curriculum that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with Saint Andrew’s policies.
This position will generally teach five sections of Design Technology and Media Arts courses for students in grades 6-12. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the MYP design cycle and will have experience teaching both engineering principles and media arts production. The teacher will implement project based learning activities with students, using CNC machines, 3D printing, and CAD to instruct students on product design through prototyping. The teachers will instruct students in both video production and broadcasting skills using the Adobe software suite. This position will also serve as an advisor to 12-14 students and fulfill other duties as assigned, including supervisory responsibilities as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences that promote student growth and academic achievement.
Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborates with peers to enhance curriculum and instruction.
Uses effective class management techniques to ensure effective learning.
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating activities and plans.
Maintains expertise in subject matter through professional development.
Stays current with technology advances and incorporates technology in the classroom.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree is preferred
Experience with IB Diploma Program preferred
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects preferred
Experience with DSLR cameras, studio-grade cameras and audio equipment preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty and parents
Experience with Animation preferred
Experience with live streaming and digital asset management preferred
Possess a collegiality and willingness to collaborate with colleagues
