The Director, Student Advising & Success provides leadership and vision for the Department of Student Advising & Success (SAS), a student-facing unit that provides academic and personal advising and case management services to the undergraduate population. Specifically responsible for working in close collaboration with the Associate Vice President, Student Success, on developing a student-centered, integrated, and seamless learning experience for Babson students that seeks to leverage the connectivity between student and academic affairs; supervising the SAS staff; managing office budgets; and making strategic decisions.
Collaborates with Assistant Director, Student Advising & Success, to manage the overall operations of the department.
Implements, delivers, and evaluates an integrated, comprehensive, student-centered undergraduate advising program.
Supervises and mentors the Assistant Director, Student Advising & Success, and a team of Student Success Advisors.
Advises a cohort of approximately 100-150 students on course selection, registration, learning plans, study abroad, and other academic and personal issues.
Serves as a senior manager on the Student Success Leadership Team, partnering with the Directors of Accessibility Services, Counseling & Psychological Services, Health Services, Religious & Spiritual Life, and Wellness & Prevention Services on a wide range of projects, initiatives, and strategic planning within the Student Success Portfolio.
Oversees the development of a monthly dashboard to track trends, analyze utilization data, identify gaps and opportunities for quality improvement, and to meet departmental, divisional, and institutional goals. Participates in the Academic Standards process.
Responsible for departmental budget management and/or for monitoring and assisting with budget preparation.
Responsible for implementing departmental policies; ensures that the office maintains the highest standards for service and appearance.
Chairs the College Awards Committee.
Attends and participates in all Undergraduate Academic Policy Committee meetings.
Responsible for assisting the AVP, Student Success in a variety of special projects, such as accreditation reports, major curriculum initiatives, benchmarking, and triage functions.
Responsible for producing annual reports and responding to other requests for data.
Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
