The Advising and Career Development Center (ACDC) at Western Kentucky University is seeking applicants for a Senior Transfer Advisor. The position works within the WKU Transfer Center, and reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Supervise Transfer Advisors
Manage daily operations for the Transfer Center
Travel to community colleges to recruit and assist students interested in transferring to one of the WKU campuses
Participate in outreach and recruitment programs in the surrounding region, and represent WKU at annual transfer conferences
Support students through the transfer process, and serve as a central point of contact for advising and retention issues
Track and communicate with students in the Joint Admissions program
Assist adult learner students and students returning to complete a degree
Serve as coordinator for the Transfer Living Learning Program (LLP)
Develop, plan, and implement on-campus visits, events, and activities for prospective and admitted transfer students
Develop and implement a communication plan for transfer students
Serve as a liaison between the ACDC/Transfer Center and advising faculty and staff in WKU's academic colleges, the community college system, and WKU regional campuses
Work with students and faculty & staff from the divisions of Academic Affairs and Enrollment and Student Experience to improve overall advising practices for transfer students
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Student Success
Experience providing academic assistance at the collegiate level
Prior experience working with transfer students
Ability to travel daily
Salary Grade: 107 Salary Range: $36,000 - $40,000
