Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEProvides leadership to the student development and student success programs in campus housing. Directly supervises the residence hall and apartment staff. Serves as a senior member of the leadership team for the department of housing and residential life. Functions as the director in that person's absence.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSBring a student-centered approach to all aspects of his/her work by developing and implementing programs and activies with measurable student success learning outcomes.Provide programmatic oversight for student leadership, community development, and programming efforts of all staff and students.Supervise/oversee 6 full-time Community Directors, 5 full-time Office Services Clerks, 74 Resident Advisors, and 70 Desk staff.Coordinate all training and selection of all residential life staff.Emphasize support of, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.Serve as part of the team responsible for crisis intervention, critical incident response, student conduct and establishing standards and best practice guidelines for Housing and Residential Life. Coordinate and oversee the fall move-in process.Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Monitor work activities and resources to make sure established goals and objectives are achieved.Assist with the management of the overall operation of Student Housing. Assist and participate in special projects. Perform related work as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONMaster's degree in Higher Education or equivalent.EXPERIENCEA minimum of 5-7 years of full-time experience is required. Preference will be given to those candidates who have supervised full-time, live-in staff. Experience in the development of learning outcomes, supervision/coaching, setting of goals and objectives and support and promotion of diversity and inclusion are priorities.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESSUPERVISORYAbility to train staff, develop subordinate's skills, provide guidance and professional development.
