JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the AssistantVice Chancellor in conjunction with the clinical supervisor, this position providesa variety of counseling services that consist of coordinating outreach/preventioninitiatives, programming, and training, leading individual assessments,counseling and consultations, and facilitating groups with an emphasis on harmand risk reduction. Works with various mental health and medical providers toestablish health promotion and prevention efforts emphasizing the prevention ofsuicide and sexual assault. Also collaborates with the campus through the BehavioralIntervention Team (CARE Team) and other campus entities to promote student andcampus wide safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works jointly with Assistant Vice Chancellor andClinical Supervisor to coordinate preventive and supportive programming andoutreach (e.g., eating disorders, anxiety/coping skills, suicide prevention,alcohol, and other drugs, etc.)
Provides culturally responsive services to underservedpopulations (e.g., students from racial and ethnic minority groups, studentswith LGBTQA+ identities, students who identify as Veterans, includingprevention of suicide, sexual assault, use/misuse of alcohol and other drugsand general mental health counseling). (These can include evening and someweekend hours).
Conducts intakes and individual assessments, facilitatespsycho-educational and processes orientated counseling groups, including judicialreferral groups, and consults with parents, faculty, and staff regardingquestions, concerns, interventions, and referrals.
Provides urgent and crisis response services. Handleswalk-in crisis services and after-hours/weekend on-call coverage.
Participates in case consultations and providesevaluation and assessment of students.
Creates, develops, and assesses programming inaccordance with SASSI and needs of students and provides recommendations to theAssistant Vice Chancellor and Clinical Supervisor.
Works collaboratively to develop and implementappropriate educational materials and brochures to complement interventions.
Provides timely documentation of clinical findingsregarding students and communicates with identified University constituents. Maintainsclinical documentation via the university's electronic medical record.
Contributes to statistical reports for clinicalservices and outcome-based assessment. Participates in the preparation/documentationof monthly and annual unit reports and federally mandated reports.
Workscollaboratively with the campus through the Behavioral Intervention Team (CARETeam) and other campus entities to promote student and campus wide safety.
Creates,facilitates, supports, and engages in Student Wellness outreach programs,trainings, and activities and ensures materials appropriate for constituency'sspecific needs and goals are provided
Participatesin regular multidisciplinary meetings, weekly group, programming, individualstaff meetings, and other staff development activities. Serves on designatedUniversity committees.
Assistssupervise trainees and engage in special projects as assigned.
Performsother related duties as assigned.
