Position Summary The Dean of Palmer Theological Seminary and College (PTSC) provides administrative direction and strategic leadership toward the entrepreneurial development, quality improvement and overall growth of all programs within the Seminary and College. Reporting to the Provost, the dean works collaboratively with the faculty, student life, admissions, finance, HR, institutional effectiveness, development and the registrar to fulfill the mission and achieve strategic goals of the university through the programs and activities of the Seminary and College. PTSC programming addresses the needs of higher education at every academic level, with awards and degrees at the Diploma, Associate's, Bachelors's, Master's, and Doctoral levels. Position Responsibilities - Annually reviews the Faculty
- Appoints Department Chairs with advice from and consent of the Provost/VPAA.
- Collaborates with the CTLT to ensure orientation of all new faculty and adjunct
- Demonstrates sound fiscal management and empirically-based decision making in all activities, including but not limited to program development, human resources, budget allocations, and facilities
- Develops, implements, and assesses for improvement all appropriate unit-level strategic
- Ensures continuing improvements in teaching and learning outcomes through a robust cycle of student learning
- Fosters an academic environment in which scholarship, teaching, and learning are adequtely resourced and creatively
- Monitors and distributes assessment data appropriately and uses the results in the annual planning
- Participates in graduation exercises as required and
- Pursues and facilitates all aspects of fundraising, including grant and report writing, in support of unit/college programs, vision, and
- Remains competent and current in all relevant compliance areas, including Federal and State regulations and regional and special
- Remains competent and current in the higher education industry through self-directed study, professional relationships, and participation in appropriate training, conferences, and courses.
