Overview: The Summer Camp Healthcare Manager is responsible for coordinating the healthcare needs of campers between the ages of 3 and 13 years old, including assessing health concerns, dispensing medication, and communicating with parents and camp staff.
General responsibilities for the Camp Healthcare Manager are as follows:
June 21 to August 6 (additional training day may be required). No camp July 5.
Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Administering medications to campers
Managing head injuries and establishing a concussion protocol
Managing severe allergies
Managing injuries, sunburn, heat exhaustion
Documenting/recording interactions with campers
Organizing and tracking camper medical forms
Making decisions regarding campers return to camp or need to be sent home
May be asked to accompany campers on off-campus trips
Supervise campers during lunch
Manage camper concerns when appropriate, and effectively communicate behavioral and health concerns to camp directors
Review health and safety tips with camp counselors- leading them through a brief training during orientation
Experience in health care field required. Experience in school/camp preferred
