Under general supervision, the Registered Dietitian will function as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team at the UCSD Eating Disorder Program. The RD will be supervised by the clinic director and/or program managers in order to ensure adherence to clinic philosophy. Job duties will include: conducting individual and group nutritional interventions for clinic patients; providing a meal plan and caloric recommendations for each patient; checking in with patients and caregivers regarding problems or concerns following meal plan; consulting with patients, physicians, and other senior dietitians; chart on medical records and facilitating a weekly nutrition education group.
The RD will provide training to and work as a work lead for diet techs in clinical support and eating disorder specific training to subordinate staff. Additionally, the incumbent will eat and supervise meals with patients to observe eating patterns, monitor meal environment, and assist patients in completing meals. The RD will attend all treatment team meetings, and assist with providing consultation and training to the eating disorder staff in the program.
Dietitians must possess the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Foods andNutrition/Dietetics and have completed an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics internship.
Registered Dietitian (RD) license.
Two (2) years experience with experience in comparable TH/acuity level.
Applicants for positions in the Dietitian series are expected to possess the experience, skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
One (1) year experience with an eating disorders program
Certification or Master's degree
