Job Purpose As the Enterprise Agile Coach, you will have a proven track-record of transforming large enterprises (both Business and IT) to adopt Agile and enable a continuous flow of value by embedding Agile friendly operating models and supporting enablers (e.g. Agile demand management & funding). You will be comfortable with dealing with C-level stakeholders to articulate, influence and coach how we build, and the way we build to address organisational challenges and pain points. In an effort to help deliver business value faster through expert timely intervention and capability development, the role is to enable teams to high performance across the platforms and solve problems using DBS Agile Way of Working by removing systemic blockers. Key Accountabilities The position is accountable for driving enterprise agility through org design, the uplifting capability of the DBS group teams in Agile values, principles and practices for the planning and execution of business value in relation to coaching, mentoring & educating and has the following accountabilities: Being a trusted advisor to senior management: - Coach and develop all levels of staff on how to implement and sustain the Agile principles & practices
- Lead by example and seen as a role model of Agile values, principles and practices
- Establish a position as an expert in delivery that cultivates business value & risk mitigation
- Engage senior management and promote business strategies and solutions which drive an Agile culture and make value visible
- Leverage DBS Group resources to develop a robust-closed-loop policy / strategy deployment process that will strengthen the understanding of strategic direction and provide the goals required to cultivate a business value driven culture
Execute the Divisional execution of Platform (IT & Business) strategy for customer & employee benefit - Plan an approach to incorporate Agile WoW the strategic oversight of the customers' technology investment and assets
- Collaborate to ensure engagement and support for Agile strategy
- Work closely with other divisions (e.g. Technology, Finance, Risk etc,) to deliver quality outcomes
- Demonstrate a high level of strategic and tactical business acumen and industry knowledge in order to facilitate solution development taking into account expertise in Agile and other related disciplines.
- Cultivate "how" to be value-driven and flexible in the way we think and behave - not just "do" such us stand ups and iterations
Implement the Divisional strategy - Provide thought leadership to ensure successful design and implementation of delivery strategies that align with business unit, corporate goals and strategies
- Provide coaching advice to leaders at all levels in analysing business value and delivering well considered solutions
- Act as a trusted adviser to the business by driving innovative thinking with uncertainty & complex bodies of work
- Collaborate with other Divisions to ensure long term alignment to enterprise strategy
Planning and Monitoring - Collaborate with internal business customers and IT departments to ensure engagement and support for strategies
- Illustrate why Agile is in line with the nature of knowledge work by highlighting day to day inefficiencies that result from applying traditional mind-set to knowledge work
- Support the business in identification of business benefit and value, tangible and intangible, for initiatives raised.
- Work with leadership teams to gather business data, perform business analysis and identify key drivers for success
- Drive efficiencies within DBS through proactive sponsorship of improvement initiatives
- Balance between the needs of classical project management like answering the question "What will I get, when and for how much "without jeopardising the agility of the project and its ability to welcome change
Develop the capability of others through effective mentoring, coaching, professional development - Develop a culture that supports team engagement and high performance
- Deliver Just In Time training on Agile to DBS employees at all levels
- Develop and deliver Job Instruction Training (using the Tell - Show - Do method) to other Agile practitioners within DBS (including partners)
- Provide coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities for those being coached and mentored on Agile WoW
- Teach organisation to understand the difference between the Agile mindset ("Being Agile) and Agile Practices ("Doing Agile") and the characteristics needed in individuals, teams and organisations to embrace, promote & manifest the mindset of agility
- Create a team environment which is seen as an attractive career destination for internal and external candidates
- Support internal Guilds/Community of Practices
Job Duties & responsibilities - Develop and define enterprise business agility roadmap, set the business agility agenda and implementation plan with clear business outcomes, e.g., business value delivery and time to market
- Define and implement metrics and performance indicators around business agility that will drive the success of the initiative
- Engage senior management and stakeholders to secure buy-in and support for business agility agenda and participate in forums to propagate and promote business agility
- Bridge business and technology by building a business agility culture that unifies, manages and resolves conflicts
- Understand enterprise technology landscape and drive business agility agenda that leverages on tech partnership
- Provide insight and guidance on enterprise/portfolio/project tech strategy that will support business agility agenda
- Identify and manage issues and risks, escalate issues as needed, and provide regular progress updates to senior management
Required Experience - You will have a track-record of establishing the models for commercials, governance, funding, organisational change and underlying delivery organisation, necessary to achieve an effective Agile enterprise;
- Proven hands on experience working with Agile & Lean Software development practices, and change management are essential i.e. able to do what you teach/coach others;
- At least 5 years' experience in Agile Coaching roles, where you have transformed from traditional ways-of-working, and/ or recovered a troubled Agile transformation at the enterprise level;
- At least 7 years' experience in Agile software development methodologies, values, principles and practices;
- At least 7 years' experience in coaching, team building and group facilitation
- At least 7 years' experience in Scrum, SAFE, DevOps, Kanban, Lean and of Systems Thinking;
- Strong customer focus: skilled ability to interpret and analyse customer requirements; influence design solutions in-line with Corporate and IT strategy; utilise established internal and external networks to promote innovative solutions for customers;
- Strong people leadership experience and a proven track record in leading high performing teams;
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills;
- Expert relationship management skills; ability to communicate well with diverse stakeholder groups through internal consultation & facilitation;
- Ability to work independently;
- Skilled ability to contribute to and understand strategic perspectives, and translate to tactical actions;
- Flexibility and resilience in responding to multiple changing priorities, and comfortable handling complexity and uncertainty;
- Systematic and disciplined approach to planning, organising, decision making and delegation;
- Skilled ability to work in a dynamic leadership team, contributing to the overall goals of the group;
- Skilled ability to perform synthesis and analysis working at the conceptual level for problem solving.
Essential Qualifications: - University degree in Business, Information Technology or related discipline (Mandatory) or equivalent industry related experience
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Desired Qualifications: - Industry Association or Discipline Association Membership well regarded.
