Director of School Counseling and Wellness Programming

Position Overview:

Christ School seeks an experienced and collaborative leader who is enthusiastic to work with teenage boys in a college prep school boarding and day school environment.  Competitive candidates will have demonstrated experience working with adolescents, faculty, and parents. 

This position will serve as a lead voice on the wellness team, and will partner with the Student Life Team, Wellness Center, Chaplain’s Office, and faculty and staff to support the school’s holistic approach. Because Christ School believes student wellness encompasses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our students, it is essential for this position to be collaborative, while working at the intersection of meaningful programing and purposeful support for our community

A key school leader, the Director of School Counseling and Wellness Programming will be responsible for developing and coordinating related educational programming, emergent/short-term counseling for our students, and make referrals to community professionals. This individual will also serve as a resource to our administration, faculty, and families as we all continue to grow in our understanding of how to best support the young men entrusted to our care.

Related Responsibilities:

• Small group counseling
• Individual counseling
• Holistic wellness approach with programmatic emphasis
• Leads and contributes to our monthly Health & Safety Newsletter to our parents, faculty, and students
• Provides training for faculty and staff related to wellness issues and working with students and families
