Location: SCSU Main Campus, 720 Fourth Avenue South, St. Cloud MN 56301, Minnesota Full/Part Time: Full Time Employment Condition: Probationary Job Description: The purpose of this position is to provide high quality academic advising to all students at St. Cloud State University. We take a holistic approach to serving students at SCSU. Advisors incorporate a coaching mindset into all of their interactions, connecting them to resources and follow-up support where necessary. Each advisor is assigned a caseload of students from a particular school or college and is available to answer advising questions throughout their time at SCSU. During the student's first year, the advisor will work with students to develop a graduation plan and ensure they understand how to navigate the institution. Students who are not in good academic standing work with the advisor to create success plans. Advisors play a role in implementing and planning orientation events to welcome new incoming students. They are integral to ensuring students at St. Cloud State University understand how to complete their degrees in the most timely and efficient manner and provide individualized student services through their coaching and outreach.
