Job Type/Schedule: This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of Neuroscience. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: The lab supervisor will assist in maintaining the operations of a laboratory studying molecular mechanisms of gene expression in the brain. They will contribute to research on the genetic basis of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Rett syndrome and autism spectrum disorders. Primary responsibilities will include facilitating the day-to-day organization and operation of the lab. This includes oversight of personnel, lab purchasing & maintenance, and animal colony (with assistance from other lab personnel). In addition, the supervisor will participate in research studies, such as next-generation-sequencing analyses of primary cells and mouse models of neurodevelopmental disease, behavioral and physiological analysis of mouse models, and cell biological characterization of primary cell culture systems. Performs and oversees research projects or laboratory processes. Oversees other personnel and equipment. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with three or more years of lab experience, including supervisory responsibility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience equaling seven years. Preferred Qualifications:
Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $46,779 - $63,170 annually.
