The Sport Management program in the Department of Health Sciences in the School of Education and Health Sciences at North Central College is excited to announce a search for a one-year visiting faculty position, to start August 1, 2021. This full-time, non-tenure track position has the potential to be converted to an ongoing faculty position at the end of the first year. An advanced part-time start date is also negotiable and will be compensated through a separate stipend contract. The successful candidate will teach in the Sport Management program and serve as the Clinical Coordinator, overseeing the program's robust internship program. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to connect Sport Management students with valuable experiences in a variety of sport settings. Responsibilities entail providing oversight of all aspects of the internship program, including cultivation and evaluation of sites, student internship training, supervision of student performance, and required affiliation agreements. Teaching assignments will vary each semester based on course needs in the Sport Management major and the candidates skill set. The candidate will also serve as the advisor to the Sport Management student organization. Qualifications include a Master's degree in Sport Management or a related field from an accredited institution, and evidence of successful teaching experience at the college level. Doctoral degree preferred. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students. An ongoing or developing scholarship program is preferred.
