The Assistant Director of Admission is an essential member of Cate School’s Admission team and reports to the Associate Director of Admission. The Assistant Director supports the Associate Director and the team in all areas related to student recruitment and enrollment. In addition, the Assistant Director may also play an important role in the wider school community by serving as a student advisor, coach, and/or leading extracurricular activities as assigned by the Head of School.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Travel domestically for student recruitment as assigned by the Director. This includes school fairs, school visits, receptions, etc. Responsible for assisting other members of the admission office with various duties, including, but not limited to: Opening of School Orientation Program, Tour Guide Program, Re-visit Program, and Congratulation Phone Calls. Conduct student interviews on and off campus and virtually. Serve on the Admission Committee and the Financial Assistance Committee. Attend faculty meetings, assemblies, convocation, sit-down meals, and other duties consistent with a boarding school administrator and/or faculty member. Other duties as indicated by the Director of Admission and/or the Headmaster that are keeping within the spirit of a boarding school faculty member
Minimum two years experience in admission. Independent/boarding school experience a plus
Skills/Qualities The commitment and ability to articulate the special nature of a Cate education. Excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills. An interest in all facets of enrollment management. The ability to travel representing Cate. The ability and willingness to work collaboratively with all Cate constituents, including, but not limited to, admission staff, faculty, students, parents, Board members, alumni, and the Head of School. Manage details and meet deadlines. Proficiency in social media platforms a plus. Proficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Veracross a plus. Fluency with InDesign and Photoshop a plus. Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed. Additional language fluency a plus.
