Lower and Middle School Counselor
Norfolk Collegiate School
Norfolk Collegiate is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time lower and middle school counselor position for the 2021-22 academic year beginning July 1, 2021. The lower and middle school counselor will offer a comprehensive program to foster student well-being and success. The ideal candidate will have experience in directing an independent school program, meeting the social-emotional needs of students, addressing academic concerns, and offering support services to lower and middle school students and families. This position reports to the heads of the lower and middle school, sits on the admissions committee and the crisis management team for the lower and middle school, and collaborates with the faculty, the learning resource program coordinator and the head of the lower and middle school in identifying students who are in need of support and/or advocacy.

Preferred candidates will have excellent written and oral communication skills, at least three years of school counseling experience in an independent school and an advanced degree in school counseling from a CACREP certified program. Candidates with degrees in social work and/or clinical psychology also will be considered.
