Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the full-time position of Admissions Assistant (Admissions Specialist). The Admissions Specialist is responsible for all aspects of admission system data entry and processing, including managing all phases of the flow of applications. Maintains confidential student files, provides information to prospective students and parents regarding admission policies and procedures, evaluates college transcripts, inputs transfer credits on permanent student records, and corresponds with students regarding missing information.
The Admissions Specialist serves as the initial face of the admissions office; greets all visitors, fields questions, and trouble shoots their problems. Oversees the processing and evaluation of all applications for admissions and accompanying material, such as transcripts, to determine eligibility; sends communication to students once a decision is rendered; maintains records and databases of applications; updates and purges as necessary; gathers and collates information from records and prepares reports. Schedules personal visits to campus and coordinates the calendars of admissions and financial aid counselors. Reviews applications for completeness, contacts applicants for any missing information or to resolve discrepancies, and obtains any necessary information from other sources. Assists with student recruitment activities, campus visitation days, and campus tours. Collects and processes application fees and accounts for transfer to the Bursar. Assists the Director of Admissions as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of office or related experience.
