Full Time Middle School Math Teacher (Pre-Algebra - Pre-Calculus)

Minimum Qualifications and Attributes: 

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.  Gifted Education coursework, certificate or degree preferred.
• Illinois Certification preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years teaching experience preferred inclusive of work with gifted students
• Strong passion for teaching & commitment to student learning & development
• Ability to design challenging, hands-on, experiential, interdisciplinary learning activities that advance the targeted learning outcomes and fulfill the Quest mission
• Excellence in classroom management techniques
• Knowledge and understanding of various learning styles and differentiated instruction
• Outstanding ability to collaborate with colleagues
• Enthusiasm for professional development
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Excellent verbal, written, and observational skills
• Patience, good listening skills, and the ability to multitask
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexibility in addressing the children’s as well as the school’s needs
• Experience with G-Suite (Google Apps) for Education preferred
• Working knowledge and experience with various computer systems
• Ability to use basic office equipment
• A valid First Aid Certificate from the American Red Cross, including CPR training, or the ability to obtain certification
• Ability to plan, develop, and implement activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
• Communicate student progress to parents (including parent conferences and completing end-of-trimester report cards), and being available to meet with students outside of class time for additional support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
